How Much Does a Boerboel Puppy Cost?
A Boerboel puppy from Elite Boerboels costs €3,500 plus shipping. Some colors, such as black and tan or chocolate, cost more. Shipping to the USA is about €1,400, paid directly to the transport company, and the final amount is confirmed close to the travel date. That is the short answer to the Boerboel price and the Boerboel cost, and the rest of this article explains what stands behind those numbers.
I am Rui Navarro. Families who contact Elite Boerboels usually ask about the price first, then about shipping, and then about what comes with the puppy. I will answer in that order, with the same numbers we publish on our site.
Key takeaways
- The standard price is €3,500 plus shipping. Black and tan and chocolate puppies cost more.
- Shipping is not included: about €1,400 to the USA and Canada, about €1,200 to the UK and about €900 within Europe.
- Extra costs on our side are the international passport (€120) and the vet certificates, microchip and administrative work (€90).

- When you compare breeders, compare what is behind the price, not only the number.
How Much Does a Boerboel Puppy Cost?
Our standard price is €3,500 plus shipping. Some colors, such as black and tan or chocolate, are priced higher. The exact price of each puppy is shown next to the puppy on the page with our current Boerboel puppies for sale, together with the age, the color and the parents, so you can see the number before you contact us.
Our prices are set in euros, so the amount in dollars moves with the exchange rate. If you want today’s figure, ask us and we will give it to you.
What Is Included in the Price of a Boerboel Puppy?
The price is not only the puppy. Every Elite puppy comes with:
- first vaccinations;
- early socialization and daily handling;
- a BBA pedigree (Boerboel Breeders Association), with no breeding restrictions;
- a complete vet report when your puppy leaves our kennel;
- the Elite Owner Pack: my two books as ebooks (The Boerboel Bible, Second Edition, and Drive & Control) and the first month of my online training program.
Both parents are hip and elbow tested, and every puppy goes through early neurological stimulation from day 3 to day 16. I explain why that matters in my guide to early neurological stimulation and Boerboel temperament.
Shipping is not included in the price, and neither are extra vaccines.
How Much Does It Cost to Ship a Boerboel Puppy to the USA?
Shipping to the USA is about €1,400. For Canada it is about the same, for the UK about €1,200 and within Europe about €900. These are estimates, not a fixed quote. The final price depends on the size of the dog, the size of the crate and the airline rates and availability at the time of travel, so the transport company confirms it close to the travel date.
You do not have to organize the trip yourself. We take care of everything for the shipping: a specialized transport company we work with handles the travel, the logistics and the documents. You pay the shipping directly to the transport company, and your puppy arrives by airport pick-up or home delivery. Close to 600 dogs have been delivered to the USA this way. If you live in the USA, I explain every step in how buying a Boerboel puppy from the USA works, and in my article on exporting Boerboel puppies worldwide.
What Other Costs Should You Expect?
Besides the puppy and the shipping, these are the costs on our side:
- International passport with veterinary certificate: €120.
- Vet certificates, microchip and administrative work: €90.
- Special exams that some countries ask for: the price depends on the country.
- Optional training while your puppy is with us: €600 per month, normally Monday to Friday. Every puppy learns at its own pace.
If your puppy stays with us after 10 weeks of age, kennel fees apply from week 11. All the details are in our purchase and shipping policy, so there are no surprises.
How Does Payment Work?
A 20% deposit (€700 for a €3,500 puppy) reserves your puppy. The balance (€2,800) is paid when you select your puppy, and every fee must be paid before the puppy travels. US clients usually pay by US bank transfer, which they prefer, or by card through Stripe. We can normally arrange a payment plan, as long as the puppy is fully paid before he travels.
The deposit is non-refundable. Once it is paid, we take the puppy off the market and turn away other families who asked for him, so please be sure of your choice before you reserve. I am happy to answer every question before you pay. You can see the full process on the reservation page.
Why Do Boerboel Prices Change So Much Between Breeders?
When you compare the Boerboel price between breeders, compare what is behind the number. A lower price is not automatically a bad sign, but it is a reason to ask more questions. Ask every breeder the same things:
- Were both parents hip and elbow tested, and can I see the results?
- Which registry are the papers from, and are there breeding restrictions?
- What is included in the price, and what do I pay on top?
- Who handles the shipping, and what does it cost?
- What happens if a genetic disease is proven?
At Elite Boerboels both parents are hip and elbow tested, the pedigree is BBA with no breeding restrictions, and any dog with a proven genetic disease, shown by veterinary reports, is replaced for free. The conditions are written in the purchase policy, and a proven disease means veterinary reports and proof of the dog’s condition.
What Does a Boerboel Cost After the Purchase?
The purchase price is only the beginning. A Boerboel is a large, heavy dog, and food, vet care, a proper crate and training continue for years. I do not quote numbers for these because they depend on your country, your vet and the food you choose. What I can do is help you plan: read my guides on the best food for Boerboel puppies and on how much a Boerboel puppy should eat, and if this is your first big dog, read whether Boerboels make good first dogs before you decide.
